Hi, my name is Kate. I’m the one behind the bench here at Blue Cado Jewelry!

Having always been into different arts and crafts as a kid, you would think silversmithing came naturally to me, right? Heck no! It was challenging, took a lot of practice and patience, learning from different teachers along the way, and plenty of trial and error to get to where I am today. I’m still learning all the time, but I’ve come to love the process (some steps more than others) just as much as the finished piece.

My love of jewelry started long before I ever imagined I’d be making it. What little girl doesn’t have a collection of gems, crystals, shells, or bits of sea glass tucked away somewhere, patiently saving them because someday she’s going to make them into jewelry? I certainly did. I’ve always been drawn to gemstones, nature, and anything with an earthy, organic beauty, and I love the way jewelry gives us a chance to turn those little pieces of the natural world into something personal that we can wear and enjoy everyday. There’s something special about wearing a piece that feels like you, whether it reflects your style, your personality, your energy, or simply makes you ridiculously happy every time you look at it.

Add in my love of being creative, getting hands-on, and making things, you would think the equation was obvious: Gemstone lover + jewelry lover + crafty kid = jeweler, easy right? Except it definitely wasn’t! Turning a crazy little dream into something real took a lot of persistence, a lot of learning, and a healthy dose of “okay, I’m actually going to do this.” And I’m so glad I did!

Now I get to bring all of those things I’ve always loved together and create little wearable treasures for other people to connect with, enjoy, and make part of their own story. Every piece is made with care, with the hope that it feels just as special to wear as it was to create.
